During 2014 several Ebola infected patients were treated in the United States. One unique aspect of these situations was the disposal of the medical waste generated. Find out the behind the scenes events of how this was handled.
Mr. Durbin has been involved with numerous environmental, health, safety, and risk management activities throughout his 18 year career, spanning both the private and public sector. Environmental activities include waste management, due diligence for property acquisition, remediation, industrial clean-ups, and emergency response operations. Health and safety practices include occupational safety and illness and injury prevention programs, laboratory safety, and fleet safety including over the road trucks.
Patrick also has extensive experience in loss prevention and risk control, including property conservation programs for fire, wind, flood, and protection of equipment and art.
As Assistant Director of Risk Control for The University of Texas System, Patrick manages the environmental, safety, business continuity, emergency preparedness, and claim services provided to the nine academic and six health institutions in the UT System. Patrick has a Bachelor of Science degree in Hydrology and Water Resources from Tarleton State University and is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager.
